"And now why would I want to do that. I'm just trying to make sure you dont hurt yourself anymore tonight, thats all." Kane blinked. The State Alchemist still?! Couldnt she just go home and leave Kane alone for the night? Suppressing an annoyed sigh, Kane clenched her fist and growled, "You again?" she asked, before adding. "Why would you care anyway? My well-being doesnt benefit you any. And I didnt hurt myself. I just had a minor complication."
She chewed on her lip for a moment before adding, "And I wasnt joking about forgetting you ever walked the path to this abandoned alley." She uncrossed her arms and lowered them to her sides, keeping the palms with the engraved transmutation circles angled towards her legs, so that the State Alchemist couldnt see them.
"I dislike people knowing the location, give or take a block's worth radius, where I stay. I would prefer you forget this general area as well."
If she refuses... Kane thought, swallowing. Im going to have to fight her to convince her to...

"A minor complication, like hell it was minor. You could barley walk. And, as far as I'm concerned, you are my problem until I know you're safe." Sarah growled. "So, I'm not leaving, nor am I going to forget this place." Sarah was really starting to get annoyed with this girl. Why couldn't she just accept a little help?
"And honestly, if you really want me to leave you alone I think a fight might just do it." Sarah pulled her katana from it's sheath in one smooth move, and took one of the knives from her sleeve. "But only if you can win." Sarah smirked. If this girl wanted a fight, she could have one, by all means. Sarah slid into a defensive position smoothly, and waited for the other's reply.

As the young woman continued to speak, Kane continued to clench her fist and unclench it. This State Alchemist really needs to learn how to bug off... Kane thought, restricting her frustration to a mere twitch of her eyebrows as she kept her eyes closed. Was peace and quiet and seclusion from society really so freaking hard to ask for? Opening her eyes somewhat, she looked at the young woman through her bangs, keeping her light blue eyes narrowed.
"A minor complication? Like hell it was minor. You could barely walk. And, as far as I'm concerned, you are my problem until I know you're safe. So, I'm not leaving, nor am I going to forget this place. And honestly, if you really want me to leave you alone, I think a fight might just do it. But only if you can win."
Kane slowly rose her hand to her face, pinching the bridge of her nose shortly after she saw the young woman crouch. Based on her movements, she was probably going to draw the sword from her hip. Why was she so intent on fighting? Especially right in the middle of Central City - albeit the run-down, abandoned part. Sighing audibly, Kane clenched both of her fists. "The keyword in your statement is 'could'. I'm perfectly fine now. The issue was a disconnection of the nerves from my knee down, but they've been reconnected. Im moving just fine, and I'm not anybody's problem but my own. I dont need other people to watch out for me or care for me - I can do that just fine by myself."
Kane ground her teeth slightly before she continued. "And fine, remember this damned place. I'll just change my location to remain unknown. That's how I like it." Kane eyed the State Alchemist and turned slightly to the side, to keep a trained gaze on her, even though she had not raised her arms to any sort of fighting stance. "Why are you so intent on fighting me? Why wont you just leave me be to fend for myself? I prefer to keep buildings intact and people out of the hospital. And why the hell are you trying to barter my privacy for a fight? The Alchemist's creed is 'Be Thou For the People', as you should well know. Pressing to initiate a fight is anything but that, and only proving the sour name you State Alchemists have come to earn as the Military's damn attack dogs."
Kane sighed and kept her arms by her sides. As soon as the other person moved, if she was still insistent on fighting, Kane would react. Kane knew how she herself fought, and she could hold off someone for a while before ever dealing a blow. She didnt want to fight - mostly because her Alchemy was destructive and dangerous to the human body.

She wasn't intent on fighting this girl, but at the moment, the other wasn't giving her much choice. But still, if she could keep her calm there might be a way to stay out of the fight, even if it was now what the alchemist wanted.
"'Be Thou For the People', that's exactly why I'm doing this. Anyone with even on ounce of compassion would want to help you, and it's my job to do so as well." She lowered her sword, but did not sheath it. "And I'm not intent on fighting you, but you're starting to force me into a corner and soon I'll have no other choice. If you would just trust me, or at least ask for a little help I would be more than happy to put this," She lifted her katana a little and then lowered it, "Away and help. I'm not here to hurt you." Her face softened a little, but only a fraction. "If I was I would have done it a long time ago."
Honestly, the part about not wanting to fight was a little lie. At the present moment she wanted to pretty badly. But Sarah was intent on controlling her temper and not losing it for a second time tonight. She just hoped the other would settle down a little before she lost control.

Kane remained stalk still and silent as the State Alchemist responded. She made no move to take up a defensive or offensive position against the person who was beginning to seem more and more like an opponent as the seconds ticked away. Although Kane had not been versed in physical combat by any means, she moved based solely on instinct - moves which proved to be useful and at times, life-saving. That was one thing. The natural defense and strong offense from her automail was another, and her Alchemy was another class altogether.
"'Be Thou For the People', that's exactly why I'm doing this. Anyone with even an ounce of compassion would want to help you, and it's my job to do so as well." the sword that had been drawn in a threatening manner lowered very slightly. "And I'm not intent on fighting you, but you're starting to force me into a corner and soon I'll have no other choice. If you would just trust me, or at least ask for a little help, I would be more than happy to put this..." the sword was lowered somewhat more. "...away and help. I'm not here to hurt you. If I was, I would have done it a long time ago."
Kane had to bite her lip to prevent herself from scoffing. "Insisting on helping someone when they dont request it could be filed as harassment." Kane stated, swallowing once to clear her throat. "And I dont need anybody's help, I'm faring fine on my own. I hate asking people for help, so I learned quickly to make do without it anyways." she shifted her weight slightly, standing so that her side was more facing the State Alchemist instead of her front now.
"And if you could explain to me how the hell I'm forcing you into a corner. I dont recall saying 'Oh please threaten me with your sword and prepare to attack me.' Furthermore, I've not made any defensive, aggressive, or passive-aggressive threats or taunts at you. Im the one that's not looking for a fight, yet here you stand with your sword drawn." Kane paused before adding. "And I would have thought after our conversation earlier that you learned I dont trust anybody besides myself."
Kane gave a small yawn. If this young woman made the first move, Kane would unleash her full abilities against her. She just wanted to be left alone. Clenching her fists, she readied herself for anything that came her way.

Sarah growled a little.Just the tone in the other's voice aggravated her to no end, but she still heard the words the other spoke.
Sarah took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. She needed to get away from here. She was going to loose her temper and moment now, and wither she wanted to or not, this girl didn't want to fight. Plus, if she got in trouble for one more fight, Mustang might have her transfered, and she couldn't let that happen. So, without another word to the teen, she sheathed he sword, turned around, and walked away, doing her best not to turn back.

Kane heard the State Alchemist growl with displeasure, but it gave Kane a sick sense of satisfaction as she heard it. Kane could tell - just by the air surrounding them - that the other was having a good deal of trouble controlling her actions. Kane smirked to herself, her head tilted so her face was shadowed by her bangs. Kane was glad that she had developed self-control more than previously over the past few years, or else the fight would have broken out a while ago.
Kane stood in absolute silence as the young woman deliberately sheathed her blade and turned on her heel to walk away. Kane honestly couldnt help but chuckle to herself - perhaps loud enough for the other person to hear. It was pathetic, really. The State Alchemist had been so intent on fighting, yet, she let the situation go after hardly anything. Kane sighed, rolling her eyes as she looked into the sky, which was illuminated by the penumbra of the moon.
"Smart of you to turn away..." she said, a sneer evident in her voice. "I couldnt have garunteed your safety or well-being if you drove me to fight." Keeping her arms crossed, she looked up into the sky again. The night was calm...but it felt like it was about to storm.

"Smart of you to turn away...I couldn't have guaranteed your safety or well-being if you drove me to fight." Sarah growled hearing that. 'Guarantee her well being?!?' Sarah didn't need some messed up teen guaranteeing her well being. She was a Strong fighter and a accomplished alchemist. She didn't need this girls protection. And it was that comment from the other that finally set Sarah off.
The alchemist immediately spun around and drew her sword, taking a attack stance quickly. "What was that?" She snarled, no longer able to hold back the anger that had been building in her until now.

Kane could have smacked herself for her obscene lack of tact in this situation. It would probably have been in both of their best interests if Kane had just stayed silent...or more likely kept the words as thoughts rather than actually speaking them. Sighing quietly, she wanted to smack her forehead from the utter idiocy of the moment that just passed. The State Alchemist spun to face her, her stance unforgiving and aggressive with her sword drawn.
"What was that?!" her voice was more of a snarl, no longer just an unhappy growl.
I should really work on keeping my thoughts to myself... Kane thought, beginning to fear at this point a fight was inevitable. Sighing more audibly, she drew her hands out of her pockets and left them dangling loosely by her side, ready to be used at any moment. "Based on your stance I'm willing to bet you already know what 'that' was..." Kane said, swallowing before she spoke. "But I was mostly stating how it would be in your best interests not to fight me."
God knows where that would lead.

"Based on your stance I'm willing to bet you already know what 'that' was. But I was mostly stating how it would be in your best interests not to fight me." Sarah snarled again, the others answer only enraging her more. "Hell yeah I know what that was! Like you of all people need to tell me what's in my own best interest!" Sarah roared.
Sarah then ran at the other, swinging the katana to the side in a near flawless feint. Then, when she was close enough, she slid around the girl's right side and tried to attack from behind. Only too late did she see the transmutation circles on the girl's gloves.

Kane sighed as the young woman before her made her anger evident. Kane still couldnt fathom how somebody that easily pressed was in the military, much less a State Alchemist. But that was the least of her worries now. The woman had two things that Kane was aware of - a katana and alchmy. Needless to say Kane didnt know what her alchemy was, particularly, but she felt quite sure she could handle it. She was confident enough in her abilities to parry the blows of a katana too. It would only be chalked up to a couple of things of who would be determined to have the upper hand in the fight that was evident in coming.
"Hell yeah I know what that was! Like you, of all people, need to tell me what's in my own best interest!" Kane gave the other a flat look as she ran towards her, katana out to the side to come in for a blow. Im only saying I know its not in your best interests to tangle with me... she thought, stepping to the side of the swipe of the katana that proved to be no more than a feint. Kane watched the young woman move behind her, probably for the real attack.
Stepping to the side, Kane closed her fists and moved her left arm in a defensive posture. An audible clank of steel cracked through the air as the katana met the automail of her arm through her sleeves. Using the time between the hit of the blade against her arm and the backpedaling from the sheer momentum, Kane concentrated on the air around her left fist, breaking down and re-clashing the elements and compounds within the air, creating vicious sparks of electricity around her fist.
Keeping her left arm poised to block any incoming attack, Kane stepped quickly within the State Alchemist's guard and aimed an electricity-laden punch at the State Alchemist's stomach and ribcage. The punch was nowhere near as physically powerful or alchemically enhanced as it could have been. Kane was dealing this - which no doubt would hurt if it connected, not to mention shock her opponent - punch mostly as a last-resort sort of warning blow.

Sarah heard the sound of metal conecting with metal and smirked. She had known any hits to the other's limbs wouldn't do anything unless the hit the connected nerves, but this attack was just an excuse to get close. Then the heard the creckle of electricity. Figuring it must be her opponent's alchemy, she quickly waved her left hand in front of her, transmuting the air to water and the water into ice.
Only she didn't move fast enough. The ice didn't harden all the way when the other's alchemiclly charged fist knocked through it. The half-hardened water sparked, then blew out in a shockwave of steam, electricity and semi-hard ice, blowing both alchemists back a few feet. 'So I was right, it's electricity alchemy with her.' Sarah thought. 'I'll have to be careful.'

Kane backpedaled slightly as a small explosion resulted from compressed oxygen and hydrogen met with her electricity. She maintained a defensive posture with her fists clenched as she regained her footing, watching the State Alchemist regained hers as well. She'd only seen the alchemy of the young woman she was facing for only a brief time, but it was long enough to analyze what it was. She created ice from the air around her, and changed its thickness by altering its molecular compaction.
She bit her lip and let the sparks of electricity die around her fist as she waited for the other to move. Luckily she'd only revealed only one of her alchemic preferences. The second was still left as an enigma for the other person. Standing in an unwavering manner and staring at the opponent, she clenched her fists tighter. Now it was up to the other to make the next move.

Sarah watched the other, waiting for her to make a move. She didn't. 'Intresting, she wants me to go first so she can counter like last time. Smart girl, I guess she's been in a few fights. With that alchemy we'll just end up making a lot of steam. Thank God that I've gotten into arguements with the Colonel.' She then looked at the thick clouds still covering the sky.
'Well, at least there is a lot of water in the air today, or else I could only use ice and no water. But still, the air is going to get pretty thin aroung here if this goes on too long, so I better finish this fast.' Sarah took a deep breath, raised her sword again, this time coming at her opponent from the side and reaching her left hand out, creating the reason she was called the Ice Talon Alchemist.
The claws were nice and hard as she got to the other. She smirked, swinging her katana from the front and poritioning the ice claws on her left hand behind the girl, around her right shoulder.

Kane's careful blue eyes observed the other's movements unwavering. Now that she had a fight on her hands, the entirety of her attention was focused in on one thing - the State Alchemist's movements. She moved quickly and precisely. Although the movements were precise, they were executed in an almost erratic manner, showing off that the Alchemist let her anger manipulate her body, even if she didnt realize it. Kane could tell by the other's silence and expression that she was thinking.
The katana clicked slightly as it quivered, and Kane's eyes narrowed. She brought her hands up very slightly. The young woman moved to the side, raising the blade to come at her waist from the side. However, that wasnt all, and Kane sensed that it was a diversion from the full brunt of the Alchemist's attack - a diversion so it would not be noticed. However, Kane backed up so she could keep the Alchemist's entire body in her line of sight.
On the Alchemist's left hand, ice formed in the shape of talons over her fingers. Kane's eyes narrowed. Judging by the small display of Alchemy she had seen only a minute ago, this ice was undoubtedly created by the compression of moisture in the air. However, if the Alchemist would go so far as to form it around her body, and no less in the shape of claws - used for striking an opponent - she undoubtedly made it denser by compressing the Oxy-Hydrogen bonds.
Well I'll be damned... Kane thought, nearly smirking. It's as though she's trying to mirror the effects of changing the arrangement of Carbon atoms in an organic body of sort. However... Kane's eyes narrowed with focus as the Alchemist's strike was little more than a heartbeat away. I know how to break it! Crouching down just as the Alchemist's attacks reached the 'too close' level around Kane's body, she heard the katana rip through the fabric of her shirt, though she managed to avoid being struck by both the blade and the talons, having ducked just in time.
Charging the atoms and compounds in the air around her right fist once more, she let the activity level of the atoms, and there for the electric energy generated, increase greatly compared to last time as she spun around on the ground, moving her left foot in an attempt to throw the other's balance off, knocking her ankle out to the side. While she completed that motion, she used the slight spinning momentum to force herself upwards, aiming to drive the electrically charged fist into the other's abdomen, delivering a painful shock were it to hit.
