Sarah moved just fast enough to avoid her opponent's ankle, a little miffed that her attack missed. 'That was close, better be sure to-'. Her thoughts were cut off as the other's electricaly charged fist connected with her gut and sent her flying, hiting the ground hard a few feet away.
'Shit! That really hurt' she thought as she tried to use her hands to push herself up a little. When she got to her knees she looked at the other. "Man, you're stronger that I thought. Where the hell did you learn to fight like that?" She struggled to get up, grabing her katana from where it had fallen next to her, all the while keeping eye contact with the other girl.
The alchemist was breathing heavily as she lifted her taloned left hand and added a new layer to them, reinforceing the now cracked ice. She then slid into another ready stance, waiting for the other to make the next move.

Kane hauled herself to her feet when her punch was delivered using the momentum from the upward thrust of her arm. She stumbled slightly, having been in an odd position from attempting to kick out at the State Alchemist. She was bent over at the waist when she regained her balance, and craned her body up relatively slowly as her opponent drew herself to her knees, recovering from the hit. "Man, you're stronger than I thought. Where the hell did you learn to fight like that?"
Kane swallowed and watched her opponent pick up the sword she'd dropped and seemingly increase the offensive barrier of the ice...what were they, claws? "I didnt learn anywhere or from anyone." Kane said, her voice level but hard. "I only know how to survive." It was true. Sure, her Alchemy was something, but her physical combat skills were only movement based on what would get her hurt the least - she had no training in the past.
Straightening her stance, she realized the other was waiting for her to make the next move. Charging the particles of electricity around her right fist, she held the increasing charge for a number of seconds before she thrust her hand forward, the crackling of the air while the electricity surged through it like small, visible bolts of lightning towards the opponent. Any metal it touched would become an amplifying conductor, sending sparks radiating out from wherever it may be, on the ground or in her opponents own hands.

Sarah watched as the ightning flew towards her and smirked. Torring her katana to the palm of her right hand she snapped her fingers of her right hand, making a half hardened wall of ice form in front of her. Then she ran, using the intense burst of steam that the collision brought on to disguise the attack.
Sarah did her best to get behind the other alchemist, locking the others hads in the talons so that she couldn't use alchemy and hit her again. Hopefully that would win the fight, but Sarah was sure this girl still had one more trick up her sleeve.

Steam erupted as the electric charge from her lightning struck a wall of thin ice that had been formed last-second as a defense from the State Alchemist. The steam, based only on the amount, was being used as a cover-up, Kane knew. But where would the Alchemist go? Probably behind or beside her, but...I cant see worth crap... she thought, curling her lip a bit.
Footsteps behind her alerted Kane to the State Alchemist's position. She turned just in time for those claws made of ice to strike out at her. Luckily, Kane's left arm had been left by her side, so the ice struck nothing more than metal, making a resounding clang ring through the air. Reaching out with her left hand, Kane reached not up or out, but forward towards her opponent, closing her hand around the blade of the katana just above the hilt. If she couldnt break it by force, she would break the bonds of the metal, essentially breaking it apart from the inside.

Sarah growled a little as the girl slipped out of her grasp. 'Well, that's not going to work...' she thought as she tried to pull away again, but notbefore the other could get a good grip on her katana. The State Alchemist gasped and clawed at the other's shoulder where the automail was connected, trying to make her let go before the other could destroy her precious sword.
She eventually felt the claw on her pinky sink into human flesh, but was careful just to make nothing more than a deep scratch. She didn't want to hurt the other too badly, she just couldn't let her weapon be destroyed. She lightly dug into the other's shoulder, careful not to dig too deep, and jimmied the blade, desprate to get it out.

Kane stifled a grimace and gasp of pain as she felt the State Alchemist's elongated claws of ice scratch through her flesh around her automail port, cutting through the scar tissue that had formed there. Swallowing to prevent an expression of obvious pain leaking through to her face, she shut her eyes, tightening her grip on the weapon she had managed to close her hand around. That was luck, and Kane had managed to grab the side of it so it couldnt cut into her glove.
Kane concentrated on the transmutation circle on her glove, focusing on the specific alchemic reaction she wanted to take place within the metal from the transmutation circle. Activating it, she felt the familiar, painful shock run up her body as her automail conducted it. However, it was forced into the sword as well, the electricity reacting in Kane's favor against the metal bonds.
The electric current that surged through the blade had been transmuted specifically to break the bonds apart, essentially to destroy the sword from the inside. She heard a crack, the sound of damaged metal before she opened her eyes again, just in time to see a crack split through the blade and branch out across it, before the pieces crumbled to the ground.
Kane was allowed no time to relish her success, however, as the icy claw of the other was digging further into her skin. Dropping to the ground, Kane rolled away quickly, clumsily picking herself back to her feet and maintaining a defensive position. Now she's probably pissed... Kane though, almost grimacing with the prospect of the State Alchemist's anger.

Sarah felt her beloved blade breaking before she saw it. As the metal shattered her eyes went wide and she dug her talons deeper into the ther. She didn't care about not hurting the other for a moment. She had broken her katana, and she was going to pay for it.
Sarah felt the other roll away from her, and tore her claws out of her, casting away the now usless handle and sliding a few steps back, snarling as she did so. If she hadn't been pissed before, she was now. That blade had been with her for years, now she had to go all the way to Risembool to get another one made. Damn. 'OK, I've offically had it'.
Sarah pulled one of the knives from her black boot and held it in a way that almost made her look like she was hunting. That's when she saw the others bleeding shoulder and regained a little sanity. 'Wither she broke my katana or not, she is still human, so I can't do anything too bad...' The Alchemist snarled again, but didn't make another move, waiting for the other once more.

Kane rolled her shoulder slightly and spared a few seconds of her concentration to look at the wound. Her shirt was torn but not much of her skin was visible in this light. Although Kane couldnt see any blood blossoming on her black shirt both because of the color of the fabric as well as the dark light, she could feel the damp liquid spreading. The wound wasnt too serious, but it would be enough to be a pain to take care of.
Kane blinked once or twice as the State Alchemist pulled a knife from her boot and held it before her in a supplementary manner. She was adept at using a knife as well? That was a problem. Kane could deal with close combat with a weapon that was normally used more for longer short-range and mid-range combat like a sword, but a knife could be maneuvered more easily. Time to switch to long-range, it looked like.
Sighing, Kane clenched her left hand and activated a transmutation in the air around them using the glove on her hand. Although nothing was noticeable for the moment, she was making the air thicker, drier, and evaporating the most obvious liquid in the air, making the air in their area hot and dry. This was the start to what she would do. Keeping in mind the transmutation she was performing with that hand, she thrust her right hand forward as well and transmuted electricity, sending waves of what could have been described as lightning crackling towards the State Alchemist. Sarah gasped and tried to transmute when she saw the lightning, but the air was too dry. She growled and dashed to the side, just far enough so that the other's attack didn't hit her directy. Still, the other had disabled her alhemy for the time being, and that wasn't good. But she still had her knife.
The State Alchemist growled and rushed at the other, slashing her knife and drawing back her left head, which was still adorned with the ice talons. This was her chance, if she could disable her opponent somehow, she could win and walk away.
