You must have participated in at least Ten Threads on the site before you can claim a Canon Character, or you must be an Mod of some sort.. You must also be EXTREMELY ACTIVE with said Character, otherwise, you will loose the spot and it will be open. It is recommended that you have an experience, whatever it may be, with Roleplaying as the character in a very Canon way before you apply for one.
Staff are usually the only ones who maintain a Canon Character for so long.

Roy Mustang, a previous General, became only an Elisted Man in the Conqueror of Shambala Movie, but has now moved back up to Colonel. Riza Hawkeye is now Lieutenant Colonel, and most of the Second Lieutenants have been bumped up to Regular Lieutenants.
